Fepod Oy Ltd, an Aalto University based start-up, has developed an analysis tool that allows healthcare professionals to measure the concentration of paracetamol, opioids and other painkillers real concentration in a single drop of blood. The company has just received €750 000 in seed funding from Almaral Oy to continue clinical trials and develop sensor technology and a software platform.

Nordic Bioproducts Group opens its first major production facility for advanced cellulosic materials
Aalto-based startup Nordic Bioproducts Group has opened its state-of-the-art production facility in Lappeenranta, Finland. This facility, powered by the company’s proprietary AaltoCellTM Technology, is dedicated to the commercial-scale production of advanced cellulosic materials, including its flagship Microcrystalline Cellulose (MCC). The factory is expected to create 40 million euros in revenue in the first full operating year.
